Civil War soldier, probably in the Union Army. Smith, in this document sent to Thomas J. Peacock, authorizes Peacock to take temporary charge of his effects if he is killed, and if pickets prevent his son, Alfred Leigh, from reaching him. Witnessed by Ann Todd.
